Judge Jacy J. Hurst was in private practice in the Kansas City area before joining the Kansas Court of Appeals. She was a general business litigator representing clients in federal and state courts in a broad range of areas. She ultimately specialized in healthcare regulatory and employment law and was general counsel and chief compliance officer for a system of healthcare clinics providing care to underserved patients. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas and received her law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law. She is an adjunct professor at Washburn University School of Law.
