Amendments to Rule 160

Section Rules Open for Public Comment

The Kansas Supreme Court is accepting public comment on a proposal to amend Rule 160: Broadcasting or Recording a Court Proceeding for Public Access.

The proposed amendment would allow a person to record a live broadcast over the internet of a public court proceeding but prevent the person’s recording from affecting the official court record.

The court uses strikethrough to show deletions and underlining to show new language.

You may comment on the proposed amendment until 5 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2025, by emailing scrulespubliccomment@kscourts.gov. You must include “Rule 160” in the subject line of your email.
